I’m including the highest-quality video (that I could find) of Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime performance above. Madge thinks she’s Cleopatra or something, which… sure. I mean, if you’re performing at the Super Bowl, you might as well go all out. Madge started out with “Vogue” and it didn’t sound like she was singing live, right? She went from “Vogue” into “Music”. Madonna stumbling during that song. Poor bitch, I do that all of the time.
At this point, I’m already admiring her stamina. I would have fallen over completely by this point. Anyway, after that, she was joined by the LMFAO dudes to perform “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It”. She just danced there, and at various points, she just looked like an old lady I think. Anyway, after that, she did that horrible song “Give Me All Your Luvin,” with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.
M.I.A. also gave the finger during her solo, but it didn’t go out live. I’ve grown to really dislike M.I.A., and this was just a dumb, classless move designed to steal focus. Pathetic.
Anyway, after that came Classic Madonna. I’ll sort of buy that she was actually singing for “Express Yourself” and “Like a Prayer” – because her voice sounded so much weaker during that part, right? I also liked Cee Lo Green’s inclusion – nice cross-promotion for NBC (The Voice), but they also worked well together. That was my favorite part of the show.
So, how do you think she did? I have to admit – I’m kind of impressed. I think she did well.
Oh, and here’s Kelly Clarkson singing the National Anthem. I think she did a great job, right? Her voice is so good, I don’t even mind the bangs.

I thought she absolutely nailed it. Excellent work, Madonna!!
Agreed. It was supposed to be a mid-event spectacle and she delivered exactly what the occasion required. (And way better than Daltry and Townshend two years ago.)
Totally agree. Not a fan of her, but she put on the right show for the right time…and showed she still has it.
Agreed also. I was prepared to hate on it, but I was pretty impressed. She definitely put the effort into the entertainment. And aside from the actual show value, it reminded me that she has a pretty great back catalogue of dance tunes. Not so taken with the new tune though…
I liked it. Madonna looked great. It’s sad to see women trash her with such dumb catty comments because if a woman of 53 can look this good, she should be an inspiration, not someone you put down. Someday you will be 53 and let’s see you look that fit and pull off moves like that.
It was a shameless homage to Madge herself and she did a great job. She’s still got it performance-wise, and thankfully no nip slip, or my son would have been scarred for life. LOL!
I thought it was a mess. It was all over the place. But not the worst performance in recent years. On the other hand, my sister thought she did great. My ten-year thought the same as my sister although she had no idea who Madonna was.
No one beats Prince’s performance. So far, he’s had the best performance. I noticed she stole his Marching band idea. U2 a close second.
I saw the performance on Youtube,I thought she was a menopause woman who tries to dance like a twenty years old girl.
That is a great line!
hahaha menopause woman. almost insulting to women with menopause 😉
Exactly!
Exactly! She seemed somewhat confused at times, like she was thinking: “what the hell im doing here…?!”
Thank you, I did too. She was wobbling around on the heels, really should’ve used some chunkier heels she could really move in. And it was all lipped – girlene cannot really sing, she’s a “studio singer”.
Actually I have just seen a better close up of her shoes and they were higher and sturdier than I thought. She was probably wobbly from nerves – I would be.
@Eleonor, I think Demi Moore has the “menopausal woman trying to dance like a 20-something” on lock!
I read this awhile ago and was so angry that I had to walk away. Then I decided that I’m glad that I grew up in a generation that doesn’t murder it’s young, nor hold each other in such contempt that bullying is a national concern, nor blast someone who makes an effort to do something CONSTRUCTIVELY. Why does the younger generation think they are cool when the do something mean? That doesn’t make you strong as only weak people are mean, spiteful, and constantly sarcastic about someone older. Shame on you!!
Its ‘menopausal woman’…and I have a hotflash for you b**ches…there’s nothing wrong with menopause…no more monthly business to deal with, no more pregnancy worries, your sex life improves, you are at a time in your life when your career is kicking ass and you make shedloads of money! Bring it on I say! 🙂
Oh and Madge was ok…her narcissism can be a bit OTT but girlfriend can still bring it…
😆 Thank you, good lady! My fan is on me right now.
Madonna did ok… Like a prayer was my favorite part like how she disappeared at the end … Christina take note this is how one sings the national anthem
No matter how old we grow, like a prayer just sticks! I thought to myself, wait a minute, didn’t Pepsi drop her because of that song?
You know what did Madonna in? Her cartwheels! I don’t know why a perfectionist such as herself insisted 1- on executing very poor cartwheels (like an old woman trying to play with young kids), and 2- perform in uncomfortable high-heeled boots!
Other than that, the teenager in me that survived the 80’s loved it! The whole show was over the top, the visuals were great, and she got you moving!
Elton John: wasn’t Madonna’s fantastic narcissistic show a high-kick to his side-eye? Loved it!
Over-the-top production, and the dancing was okay, save for the wobble, but please, she was lip-syncing the whole thing! You can see it in the close-ups.
That, for me, pretty much killed it. Meaning…not that impressed.
like an old woman trying to play with young kids
😆
So wrong, but I can’t stop laughing!
Wow, I thought I was the only one who disliked “Like A Prayer”! Good to know others aren’t a fan of that song too!
At least Christina has her own page in history of this event. No matter for good or bad reason. And Kelly… well it was just another boring performance. Madonna was great. Her show was visually stunning.
I thought it looked like she was pulled into hell at the end of the performance.
hahaha same here! I thought how appropriate she drops into hell at the end of this very misogynistic display. She loves herself and that was very apparent! BUT I will conceed this was one of the best half-time shows I’ve seen in ages.
I loooooved the show!! she was miming ok, but 130 millions people watching make even Madonna feel a bit conscious! The dancers were great and nice of Madge to pay homage to Kylie’s Aphrodite show last year with the ancient Greece theme of gladiators, angels, togas. i had goosebumps all during the performance!
I have one word for any of you that thinks not singing at a concert is great. And that she might be anxious and have to lip sync, which is what the whole performance was.
And bear in mind, live and I believe in the rain.
PRINCE!
I loved the show, that’s why they called madonna to perform, for the amount of people she can attract not certainly for her vocal abilities… nothing could have gone worse than Black eyed Peas last year, they were so embarassing, so very very embarassing, i’ve seen so many x factor contestants being better than them! That’s why prince sang live..because he has an amazing voice and he rocks it!!! Sometimes i like when the performers lip sync because otherwise our ears would bleed non stop.
She was great. And all covered up. Love Madonna! Light show, drummers and singing guests were great too.
I liked it, not the best not the worse we have seen. I thought the whole game, ads were boring. The half time was anything but.. good job M
I was actually bored and left the room to go get something to eat. Unimpressed.
Me too. Couldn’t even sit through the clips.
Her music might be great but her narcissism makes me dislike her. A little humility would be appreciated. It’s like i. e. even if Leann did something nice/cute I would not be able to say something nice about her. Why? Because we all know how crazy narcissistic she is. Same goes for Madonna. With that said Madonna’s performance here was just really boring.
Agreed.
I would never call her music “great” – she’s been very popular in her life, I’ll leave that to her. But her songwriting has always been bare minimum, just to get by. Even the dancing was never all that. She sells Madonna and The Package, which is why marketing has got her where she is.
But then Gaga comes in and does all that in about a year and becomes Forbes Most Powerful Woman at the tender age of 24, with slightly better songs and way better dancing in most cases, so, the formula is still working…
GG – I’ve never been a fan of her ”music”. Can’t stand her dancing or her singing. But I wanted to be politically correct hence the ”great”. Haha, I’ve been reading the comments below and apparently you don’t have to be 😛
She’s so awful. The Los Angeles Times reviewed her “performance,” and nailed it:
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/music/la-et-madonna-super-bowl-20120206,0,6527176.story
it was boring:-(
Thanks nycgal read the review – no madge fan, overblown pastiche and the only purpose was to market her new cd/tour. The NFL got played by the princess of promoting.
I think she looked out of place for her audience. Really M in Egyptian and then… Roman? and then Cheerleader stuff from her new commercial- I mean song? Her dancing wasn’t great imo (i’ve seen her capable of better), she just pelvic thrusts and lots half-Russian, half-Urban pop and lock. LOL
The theme was bad and I think she could have ripped more stunts off the Beijing Olympics if she wanted to wow the target demographic of SB. They like production and songs they can scream to. I was at a large party here in Indy for the game and most people didn’t sit and watch her. They all got up and started looking for drinks, bathrooms, and food after the Vogue started. One guy yelled out across the hall room “Is it really 1986 again?!”
The room erupted in laughter and most people left inside the main room with the TVs were making fun of her like it was Mystery Science Theater. lol
Sounds like a really mature group of people, there :/
Maybe I am the only one who doesnt find mockery very funny?
Well I watched for you.
And all I can say, is that it looks like Madonna is taking the same meds as Britney Spears.
They both move at the same speed on stage.
It was awful. And I loved every minute of it. LOL!
lol!!!! She was moving pretty slow.
Overall, I thought she did great. Go Madge!
She is becoming a bit rusty in the dancing-department. Which is fine since she’s getting older. But whithout the dancing and without a great singing voice, what is left? Her star-quality, yes, that takes her a long way, but to me, last night just displayed how little real talent Madonna has. She has talent for show, but that’s really it.
Remember when Prince did the halftime show… Now thats talent
YES!!! THANK YOU!!!!
THIS. *gestures to all in response to Len’s comment.
Exactly. Still the best show ever. And even done in the rain. Perfection.
YES…….n.
YES…….
Nothing, no one, nowhere, no how, will top that Prince halftime performance!
I agree with Len and “Bite Me’. I used to like Madonna’s music as a kid, but her new single is sooooooooo awful. There really isn’t much left to like if you dont like the music. And yes, Prince was infinitely better.
WOW. After reading your post I looked up a vid of Prince’s performance at halftime (2007), and it gave me chills! That is what half-time should be, right? Like you are at the concert of a really, really good musician. Not some weak pop-tart(s).
YES! PRINCE AGAIN PLEASE!!!!! That was the best one I have ever seen.
I didn’t read down thread so mine is above but, HELL YES!
The best ever halftime show. In the rain. I finally saw him in great seats last year and it was the best concert ever and I have seen everyone!
Dances his ass off, plays guitar, piano and sings all in heels higher than Madge. Nothing slows down the absolute talent this man has. The feel he has for his music has nothing to do with what we saw last night. Passion vs. PR
Prince RULES
YES!! it’s like we’ve become so used to third rate shows and “artists” like the Black Eyed Peas that we’ll accept anything that’s even slightly better and think it’s great. These shows just highlight the dearth of great musical artists and talent out there. Everyone is reliant on Broadway costumes and auto-tune.
I just want to see a real musician or a real singer, someone who will do an amazing piano- or guitar-solo, or an amazing high note. Someone who wrote their own song and brings me the emotion. Anything but this plastic fantastic.
It was reported widely that she had injured her leg, pulled a hamstring or something the week before during a rehearsal, so I’ll give her a pass for having a bit of stiffness during the dancing. I know I couldn’t do what she did up there – injured or not!
I have been hearing that comment (“I know I couldnt do what she did onstage!”) a lot lately. But are you a professional entertainer? Madonna is. In fact she gets paid millions and millions of dollars to do what she does onstage. Personally, I think she could and SHOULD have done a better job of it.
That said, I still think the whole spectacle was entertaining but vocally, Kelly Clarkson was much, much better.
I don’t expect any singer to perform ‘live’ when they have so much choreography going on. It’s not possible to carry a note and dance that vigorously and singers who say they do it are liars. Elton John’s head probably exploded from his bitterness. I’ve seen Elton ‘live’ and he can’t sing or carry a note while he is seated, never mind standing, so he shouldn’t really talk.
I do think she sang the last song only (no dancing) though.
Overall verdict: one of the better superbowl performances in a while.
I don’t know how they’re going to top Madonna’s performance next year.
I saw Elton preform in Toronto a few years ago, and he sounded great, very little difference between live and recorded….unlike some people I could mention *coughcoughmadonnacoughcough*
I’ve never been a fan if hers, so I thought it was okay. But I am tired of people talking about her age. Liam Neeson plays an action hero and nobody says he is too old, and he’s almost sixty! Roger Daltry, who did the halftime show a few years ago, is older than Madonna too, and nobody talked about his age. Really!
I saw Elton this summer and he was sooo awesome!!! Not pitchy at all. Maybe he was sick when you saw him.
Ive seen Elton live 27 times so I feel as though Im qualified to comment here. He used to be good back in the 80s, hell he was great. Now (much like Madonna) its gotten sad. He sits there and sweats. He cant hit any of the notes he used to. He sings good…for his “old man Elton” voice/songs. But he used to have the best songs and the best voice and its just gone. Thats what happens when you get older. Hopefully my boy Mraz is around for a long time I guess.
I love Jason mraz!
I saw Elton and Billy Joel in concert a while back. I was shocked to realize that Billy Joel was a much, much better musician than Elton. Who knew?
Say what you will, but Gaga sings live and it’s very obvious. Just sayin. She trains damn hard and runs on a treadmill practicing, which is how it’s done, ladies.
And Madonna was not singing the last song, and couldn’t have been, because she was falling into the hatch on the last note of the song while there was a tape of her singing going on.
The big clue is this: When somebody’s mic is being wiggled around at varying distances from their mouth, especially if the mic is over 2 inches from their face, they are NOT singing into the mic. Look at the difference in the way Kelly Clarkson held the mic very carefully and steadily in front of her mouth so the dynamics would not waver – if you don’t do that, your sound man will go nuts because he won’t be able to pick up your voice. When Madge was skipping around with the mic 6 inches away from her mouth, she ain’t singing.
Not always true. There are some performers out there who can dance and sing at the same time. Off the top of my head, Pink is a great example of this. There are definitely others. Point taken, though.
I saw Elton live and he was fabulous. He was totally on. Blue feathers everywhere. I was 4 years old and it was 1973 the year of Crocodile Rock.
I loved his Pepsi ad but what is he now? 70? I was a baby when I saw him.
My mom and I wanted to have a redo when I was 34 but it was Elton and Billy and we aren’t Billy fans.
I have to say, it wasn’t bad at all…I mean, she is not a great vocalist, but her showmanship was great…I also liked her outfit and appreciate she covered her man arms, had a decent length skirt and didn’t rip off items to show herself off. She has an incredible physique, is obviously disciplined and strong. M.I.A. did a classless, tacky move. She should be giving thanks for the opportunity to perform to such a huge audience and appreciate every moment!
I mean, the woman is in excellent shape, but at the end of the day, she’s a 53 year old woman wearing Sparticus panties. We didn’t need to see her doing all that leg lifting, split kicks, etc. I know she’s put out a sex book, so showing off her gold encrusted panties/crotch shot isn’t shocking, but I just feel like I could have gone forever without seeing it. I like her music, I don’t like watching her perform.
Spare me. How old are you? I am way younger than Madonna, but I have seen her in concert. She was 48 and her body was rocking. Her legs and ass are phenomenal, better than many girls in their late twenties. She had 70,000 people screaming for her who do like to see her perform at my concert. I thought her outfit for the halftime show was very tasteful and great.
Jayna, get over yourself.
I’m 25. Yes, young, but I’m an educated professional, a wife, and a mother. Madonna is older than MY mother, and if MY mother were doing all of that, I’d be mortified. Did I not say she wasn’t in excellent shape? In fact, it’s the first thing I said. Yes, her body is banging, but I didn’t like seeing her lift her legs and showing me her crotch. If that’s what you’re into, though, I won’t judge, dear.
And thanks Cadence, she is a little full of herself! I’m curious if she’s going to bash everyone who didn’t care for the show?
How about you spare us uncalled for rude sarcasm?
How about you stop using terms that were popularized in episodes of My So Called Life?
I don’t see why it’s ok for you to get pissy and “rude” with me bc I don’t care for something, but I’m not allowed to get pissy or rude back? Regardless, you acting like this doesn’t make me like her performance better. Excuse me if I don’t like watching a woman who is older than my mother gyrating in front of millions of people, children included. We have different tastes. Big deal. You’re the one who made it personal.
agree Samigirl
She is a performer who was in costume. You need to understand what it means to be on stage. There were several themes going on to match each song. You can’t just wear denim and a t-shirt. Can’t you comprehend that or are you just really bitter and hateful? Let’s see you do what Madonna has been doing for decades. I thought it was a great show!
Neither bitter nor hateful. The exact opposite in fact. Extremely loving and happy girl, over here. She could have still worn something that was tasteful and not shown off her crotch. I see performers wear tasteful clothes at their concerts (Kelly Clarkson being one). Sure, they may not have the legacy Madonna carries, but they can still not show off their crotch and give a good show. She’s an older woman and she has young children. The way she shows herself off has GOT to be embarrassing for them. My son is 4, and I wouldn’t wear the clothes she wears on her tours in private, let alone public for the world to see! I just feel like she could be a little more classy.
I’m not understanding why I’m getting so much hate, when other’s have said MUCH worse than I did.
I’m not going to take it back, but the attacking is getting old…go find someone else to hate on.
How in the WORLD could you take Sami’s comment as being “bitter and hateful”? She was just giving her opinion, no need to get bitter and hateful yourself just because you disagree with her.
Why do Madge fans get so aggressive with people who think differently?
So being in costume on stage automatically means everyone wants to see Madonna flash her dusty granny-crotch and ass? There’s a huge gap between that and “jeans and t-shirt”. She could have done something just as over-the-top costume-wise without looking like she is so desperate to be sexy. Being in great shape is not a pass to show your body, I think what she did is a bit trashy and risque for a performer of any age, call me old-fashioned for 24, but it’s the same thing as walking around in a belly shirt “just because you can”.
What a nasty and hateful comment, Cher_elle. People besides you are fully aware of what it means to be on a stage. Don’t assume everybody is an outright imbecile just because you are clearly a Madonna fan and others would rather pass on her.
@samigirl, is it just me or do you feel like that’s been going on a lot lately? We didn’t seem to have this problem in the past.
You are entitled to your opinion.
I fully agree with the LA Times. How much shit did they throw on the wall to see if would stick last night? 18 themes, Madge introducing two new chicks like she did with Brit and Xtina, warriors, circus acts…
I again refer you all to the 2007 halftime show where someone talented sang live and played live amazingly in the rain. Prince. Don’t need no tricks and pom-pons when you are amazing and talented.
Original T – How I didn’t notice she was trying for a VMA -recreation with these two girls is beyond me. She was! Too bad she couldn’t think of anything that would beat the kisses apart from showing her crotch every two seconds.
Also, I agree that lately I have noticed some particular hateful remarks on here. Sami wasn’t even saying anything mean. But hey, if you don’t love everybodys favourite Botox pin-cushion you’re deplorable…
I agree with you Samgirl. There’s a point when – no matter how bangin your body is – panties on stage are inappropriate. She could’ve worn tight leather pant with those boots and looked way hotter.
It is a costume, people. Get over it.
Wow, so much hate over Madonna. It is a costume, people. Get over it.
Thanks for the support, ladies. Maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones, but I was totally feeling a little bullied. Anywho, yes, it was a costume. And these are our opinions. I’m over it. I stated my opinion, as did several other ladies on this page. Why don’t YOU get over it?
I think Sami was very restrained actually – some people in some bad moods today for whatever reason not associated with your opinion, Sami. props for your opinion.
As for you, Jayna: “She had 70,000 people screaming for her who do like to see her perform at my concert” YOUR concert? Either that’s a typo or you’re Madge trying to blast everybody that doesn’t agree with you. Wait – that IS what you’re doing …
LOL! GG, I agree. I think we have some ticked off Patriots fans on this site today. Gotta let your frustration out somewhere. I completely agree with, Sami. She didn’t say anything insulting so don’t get your panties in a bunch, people!
fist-bump to the lovely Asli! Are you Dutch, Asli, or did I imagine that?
Yeah! Fist-pump back. LOL! No, I’m Danish 🙂 Can I just say…. Your cat is soooo cute! I have a similar kitten. She’s black and white too only her white spots are on her belly, paws and half of her face. Man, I have a weakness for cats. Yay, cat-people rule!
Giants fans take a look at this. Man, what I wouldn’t give to be there.

Very impressed with your English – but people from your corner of the world are always great with languages. cheers!
Thanks 😀 I was in San Francisco last year and one lady told me that she thought it was creepy how most Scandinavians, Germans and Dutchmen speak English very well. We start learning in the 3rd grade so it’s just like second-nature 😀
just when i count her out, she pulls something like this off. i think she did a really good job.
Remember when Britney performed at the VMA’s when she barely moved on stage and was a general trainwreck? Madonna’s movements reminded me of that. She was unsure on her feet and I was very disappointed because I wanted to see her dance (without breakiong a hip, anyway).
I thought of the same thing! She seemed like she was moving in slo-mo.
She moved like how I walk when I put on a pair of too-high heels.
Agree with you all here! I think she did fine – but damn, she would have been able to confidently MOVE and dance if she wasn’t wear such huge-ass heels! Also, the cheerleading song is just terrible. Sounds like something Selena Gomez should sing – not Madonna.
For those who watch M’s concerts, the thigh high boots are nothing unusual. Keep in mind she hasn’t toured in about 4 years because she’s been busy with other projects.
For those who watch M’s concerts, the thigh high boots are nothing unusual. Keep in mind she hasn’t toured in about 4 years because she’s been busy with other projects. We heard she pulled a hamstring and maybe she was trying to be careful with it. She’s now prepping for her world tour. The woman amazes me! She’s unstoppable!
Except her heels were not high – they were about 3 1/2 inches. She would’ve done better in some chunkier heels that would have given her more stability.
actually I later had a better look – those heels were about 4 inches and were sturdy. She wobbled though – whether due to her nerves or her hamstring or a little of both.
She had a hamstring injury which apparently happened in rehearsals.
Aha! I was wondering if she was injured.
She also looks effing stiff in her new video. From what injury is she suffering there?
Kelly did a lot better of those of late. Madonna, did her thing and she was great at it. Kudos to both !
Madonna did great as far as I’m concerned!
I am a fan of lip-singing because nothing is more painful then when icons show how horrible they truly sound. I’ve been to concerts I still have nightmares about.
Well, now that you say that, it is a pretty good point. KATY PERRY, LISTEN UP – YOU NEED TO LIP SYNCH!
She was great! Even that new song, which I hate, wasn’t so bad in the context of the whole performance, and at least the marching band part of it goes with sports. But Like a Prayer was my favorite. I loved the stage design for that song. And she seemed into it and like she was having fun. I saw her Confessions tour years back, and she never smiled that much then. She was great last night.
That new song was very disappointing! I was totally expecting something with a smidge more substance. As it was, it was really juvenile and, I dunno, Dippy. Like way too youngish for her.
I think she was amazing! Even though the theme was kinda copied from Kylie Minogue’s “Aphrodite Les Follies” tour last year, Madonna slayed it though especially if you consider she’s 53.
She looked amazing too! her outfit was gorgeous IMO.
She was lip syncing but most artists at Superbowl half time do because the acoustics are better that way.
Also she was wearing a pair of Elizabeth Taylors diamond earrings when she came out as Cleopatra lol
P.S M.I.A was just doing what she did in the video, she wasn’t stealing focus… you should check her new video for “Bad girls” it’s the best video of the year so far IMO, like fast and furious Saudi Arabia lol
the video is awesome. i heard its a commentary on women not being able to drive in saudi arabia and drift culture there right now. very amazing video imo.
I found the whole thing horrible and pathetic, not to forget boring. She can’t dance anymore: she looks so stiff like she is afraid to hurt herself or something. And reminding us how great “Vogue”, “Music” and “Like a prayer” isn’t helping either. Why can’t she just go away and age in grace?
So, you want her to go to Alaska and get pushed out onto an ice floe to await the inevitable? Have mercy.
That’s a great idea! Thanks for that.
Yes:)
Props to the learned Guesty for spelling “floe” correctly.
LOL! Is that you Elton??? Shouldn’t you be moob-feeding your infant instead of on the computer?
Kylie did the same show a year ago
Yes, and Kylie did it way better! I think if Kylie was bigger here in the states, more people would have noticed the “borrowing”. Madge has been doing it her whole career though, and few have noticed.
It’s like watching Betty White dancing on the stage, she hardly move and dance.Atleast with Betty White you will laugh your ass of while shes dancing ,Madge made me crawl in my bed and sleep,it’s like watching a seniors in the nursing home dancing, very very bad!
Madonna was channeling the power of Grey Skull that’s how she managed the stamina. Honestly, she looked like a cross between She-Ra and Xena in the opening sequence with that headdress.
yuk yuk yuk!
She Ra Crown!!! I thought she did an excellent job!!! I loved Like a Prayer!
I think she did a great job and looked terrific. She knows her limits age-wise and kept it classy. The first time I ever saw her on MTV (back when they actually played music videos) I was hooked. I’ve been a fan ever since.
Madonna was so much better than last year’s performance. Quick! Can anyone remember who it was? They were so bad, they’ve barely been seen since then……
That’s right… The Black Eyed Peas. Now that was a horrible half time show.
The BEPs were/are wretched, pathetic, and laughable, and had no place doing a half-time show.
Madonna’s production quality was excellent and very impressive. She was professional and appropriate, though I don’t get the Roman gladiator theme nor mixing it with running suits, but whatever. I didn’t care for the cheerleading bit or the LUV Madonna song at all, so please tell me that’s not her new single?
MIA is indeed classless. (And not just b/c of the gesture she made; she’s just all ego and smirk and sucks all the fun out of anything. Big chip on her shoulder makes her insufferable.)
Minaj seemed to have the right attitude. Ceelo did a better-than-fair job.
I agree with you that Madonna’s show was far superior to the Black-eyed Peas. Don’t know why everyone has to throw the ageism out there. Yeah, she’s 53 years old but she still puts many young’uns to shame with the show-stopping spectacles that her shows create.
As a person, I find Madonna pretty eye roll inducing but as a performer I think she’s still got it. Last thing, maybe it would’ve been more acceptable if she had sat in her rocking chair as a 53 year old ought to, huh? Or, maybe, society just doesn’t want to see a 53 year old FEMALE who still works hard and performs well. Sad state of things.
Enough with the Black Eyed Peas comparisons. You act like doing a better show than BEP is some kind of amazing accomplishment. A goat eating grass on the stage would have been more entertaining them BEP. Madonna needs to raise her standards.
As a child of the 80’s, I still give props to Madonna. I noticed the sluggish dancing too but read on another site she’d injured her hamstring during rehersals. So this 53 year old woman put on an entire performance while suffering through a painful injury…thumbs up for me. As for the Cleopatra entrance…it’s the Super Bowl and she’s Madonna. Would you expect anything less? I thought it was a great performance! Much better than the Black Eyed Peas last year.
Never mind that….how did the Giants do?! Awesome!!!!
I LOVE Madonna, but this was awful. She is too old and too into herself to deliver a decent performance. Lady Gaga, Nicki M, and Drake would have done a much better and much more exciting performance.
Just awful. Obviously and poorly lip synched and her dancing was so stiff I was actually concerned that she would fall and break a hip or something. She looked like a fool running around with those pom poms…the world does not need Madge as a 50 year old cheerleader.
I agree re: 50 yo cheerleader. Sad thing is, I was thinking/hoping Gwen Stefani. And she’s only like 10 years younger.
The ageism on this site has become tiresome. Just wait, kids. You’re next.
I agree! So much hate. These people really want to set limits according to age. So sad.
She looked pretty stiff to me. She does have a wide range of motion for a woman her age, but you can tell they kept her steps sweet and simple, nothing risky like climbing on top of a human pyramid or anything like that. She just shook her booty and was really careful while going downstairs. You could tell she didn’t want to fall off while wearing heels. Also when she did the aerobic part the backup dancers sort of shielded her so if she did a mistep they’d catch her. It was pretty obvious she was stiff and playing it safe.
The best, most appropriate part was her dissapearing at the end in a ball of smoke like the Wicked Witch.
Other than that it was embarrasing.
LOL!!!AGREED!!!
I loved it. Come on she’s 53 years old and she can still rock it. She even did some shuffl’n. Which is freaking hard to do. 😜
I thought Madonna was terrible. First of all, she’s supposed to be the star. She shouldn’t need that much support out on stage with her. Second, her vocals are terrible and she really can’t dance. She never could. She looked stiff and scared. Third, she was hindered by what she was wearing. Don’t try to dance on stage in boots you can barely walk in! All of these female pop stars put vanity before everything else and it interferes with their ability to perform.
Yes, exactly! I knew Madonna wasn’t the strongest of singers but this performance made me realize she’s not much of a dancer either. THAT’S what she thinks regular stiffs should work for a year and scrape together $300 to see? Delusional!
She did awesome—for her age and her limited talent. So I will give her credit for her Super Bowl appearance. And it was FREE.
However, I would NEVER pay $300 to see her perform otherwise.
Madonna’s voice is really thin, even with the amped up audio. In the movie “Evita” she was pathetically over her head, voice wise. Kelly Clarkson, on the other hand, was great. What a versatile voice she has!
Not original at all!
It was Michael Jackson’s “Remember the Time” video, meets Toni Basil’s “Oh Mickey” video meets that movie “Drumline”.
I thought it was totally “meh”. I mean, yeah, it’s great that a 53-year old has the stamina, blah, blah, but that’s not what the half-time show is supposed to be about. It should be about energy and “wow” factor. Madonna being carried aloft by a bunch of ripped slaves isn’t “wow” it’s pretty much what most of us believe to be an average day for her.
Bored and just awful. What was that sack she was wearing at the end? I would be embarrassed to be her.
She nailed it!!! Between the costume changes and the overall show she just put Fergie and her boys to even more shame. As for the dancing the woman is in her 50s and a narcissist or not she can still work it. I’d dare anyone who thinks she’s sluggish or stiff to do those moves. The only low point was her ‘LUV Madonna’ song it just sounded awful compared to her classics.
Amazing. She made me forget the boring Black Eyed Peas show and the awful The Who performance. Madonna put an unprecedented amount of time into the show compared to other acts. Months of putting the show together and several weeks of nonstop rehearsals. She wanted to put on a great show for the public. Thank you. The Vogue performance was brilliant and Like a Prayer was a stunning closing. I wish Ray of Light was performed instead of Music, but you can’t have everything. Her new song worked great because of the cheerleader theme at the football game.
Secondly, she was injured during rehearsals. She pulled her hamstring pretty badly and injured her nose. She was getting treatment up until the show for her hamstring She said mind over matter, the show must go on. I admire that in her. Never a whiner.
The dance you talked about with LMAO is LMAO’s signature dance, the Shuffle. It was intentional.
Rock on, Madonna.
That would be LMFAO, and the reason they are famous is because they are the son and grandson of Berry Gordy. Some may have to google that. Nepotism at it’s finest.
She seemed like a cray-zee choice for the half-time entertainment. Do they really think football fans give a crap about Madonna?
She hasn’t been relevant for a while -even with the new talent on the stage – wonder if she paid to do it?
The whole spectacle seemed forced to me.
the more pertinent question is whether football fans care about who performs at half time. It seems to me if you are going to pose that question, then it would apply to all the acts past.
She hasn’t been relevant for a while? lmao it makes me laugh when people like you just throw comments like that around without researching…
Madonna may not be relevant to you but she is to a lot of people, incase you didn’t know her last album was No1 all over and her last tour was the biggest tour by a solo artist ever (male of female) and grossed $408,000,000 but i guess she isn’t relevant… lol
The theatrics during her performance lead me to believe that she is more about the “horse and pony” show than a genuine talent.
Wow. I must have been watching a different Madonna last night! I thought she was awful; It was nothing but a glorious tribute to her massive ego! She didn’t sing, she was dressed like a high school drill team captain, and like others, I was worried about her breaking a hip. I guess if you put it in perspective of her being in her 50’s, it was o.k.. Kelly Clarkson was awesome- great job on the N.A.. I even thought Miranda Lampert and Blake Shelton were great as well.
I’m glad Madonna decided to cover herself up. You can see that she still is in great shape, but don’t have to look at her sinewy arms and legs.
I thought she did really well. Her stamina is amazing. A lot of the moves she did are not so easy for a woman her age (I know, I’m 50), even one who exercises regularly. She delivered an amazing spectacle and I thought she above and beyond. People are becoming so jaded. The only complaint I have is all the black. I found it harder to see than maybe a brighter colour would’ve been. Other than that, better than I expected!
Madonna nailed it. But MIA is a total scumbag.
why is she a scum bag? i like M.I.A. as the daughter of a sri lankan revolutionary, in my opinion, she is pretty fascinating. unlike fake gangster rappers, she has witnessed war, desperation, and things most people never dream of. i don’t want to assume about anyone else here, but i know i haven’t lived through air strikes and a war in my backyard. so she flipped off the camera. its kind of what she does. she’s a very unorthodox social activist imo lol.
Sri Lankan revolutionary? Well…that’s one way to put it, I guess.
google Arul Pragasam. like her or not, that’s her father, and like him or not, he was very active in an independence movement. i believe when americans did that they were revolutionaries, is the term only permissible for them, then, and only if their politics agree with ours?
She injured her hamstring during rehearsals!!! let’s see all you people dance with a painful hamstring at 53 years old.
As for the lip synching, every body does it. She made up for it with a good performance. You are all slagging it off as though it was Britney style lip-synching where she both can’t synch or dance any more.
*RANT* OVER
It was good to see her perform without it being performance art or world events lecture as she has done the last three tours.
I’d forgotten how much i loved her. i am even sold on that new song.
Did anyone realize there was a football game during Madonna’s concert?
Honestly, I hated her half time performance. It was loaded with all sorts of occult symbolism. She was trying to depict herself as a god in the beginning and then a high priestess at the end. All the spartan soldiers, militant marching, don’t get me wrong, the dancers were great, but the underlying theme of it all was a little disturbing.
The only part I loved was when she couldn’t step up onto the bleachers, that really showcased her old age.
It is beyond me why this woman has a fan base anymore, she is a deplorable human being.
Occult? You have to be kidding. How anyone gets that from that show is mindboggling. Madonna believes in God. Her kids were baptized. So you can sleep easy tonight. LOL
Actually, she’s right. The entire performance was occult symbolism. Just b/c she believes in god and had her kids baptized, does not mean her superbowl performance was not occult. The pyramids, the black magic, priestess and priest worship. There was too much to say in a quick post.
Anyway, I thought she did well, but regardless, there is no way you can NOT see symbolism in this show-lol. It’s SO obvious it’s right in your freakin’ face.
google the elements or google madonna symbolism, and you’ll find some archetypal and historical info for this performance, i am sure. [Also, i’m not talking about illuminati or conspiracy, as far as intention behind the symbols, but am talking about just the actual symbolic imagery from eons to the present, related to the occult.]
or maybe she was just referencing Egypt, Rome with a bit of cheerleading and gospel thrown in. jesh…people will read anything into anything.
At this rate you should sit in a tent and wait for the world to end, oh wait, you can’t; a tent is a pyramid which is an occult symbol, and as for the sky/field….don’t want to be worshiping those!!
@ Jayna and Lak
You’re a perfect example of “ignorance is bliss.”
@ lrm, Occult symbolism is everywhere in pop culture, it’s insane. People instantly assume that it references something negative, which for Madonna, she is referencing negative contexts of the symbols. I am disgusted by the use of it, especially by these pop artists and their record labels who throw it in the masses faces, who lack any knowledge of the meaning behind these ancient symbols.
Madonna also is a practicing Kabbalah worshiper, which for those who follow Judaism, it is an insult what she is doing. Kabbalah is only reserved to those with high order in Judaism and have devoted their lives to their faith and the Hebrew bible. Kabbalah emphasizes on esoteric teachings, that are a set of scriptures outside of the Jewish religion. There is tons of occult symbolism behind these scriptures.
totally agree, occult crap everywhere!
I watched it with a friend who is VERY catholic and she didn’t seem to notice…
@hotpockets – it isn’t ignorance. You are giving power to things whose perceived power has long been proven baseless.
Do you know how many every day objects are symbols of importance to one religion or another. I am talking religions of the book as well as spiritual ones.Jesh you must be terrified in your everyday life.
And btw just because MAdonna is a kaballist, it doesn’t make her some creepy insidious mind controller. Frankly i doubt she can look past her own narcissism to look deeper into the religion.
And also on the subject of the superbowl show, if she really were spiritually concerned per your logic, hasn’t she mixed up her symbols? the woman went from Egypt to Rome to American cheerleeding to Gospel. I am sure her Kaballah gods are displeased, afterall, those cultures had different gods and customs and we all know gods don’t like to share. Her downfall must be imminent! I am surprised they didn’t strike her down pronto!
I am not commenting due to being terrified, I am commenting because the symbolism is so blatant, it makes me wonder why it is becoming so trendy in pop culture to throw it around? It has always been slightly mainstream, but now it is in your face. Every single pop artist today references it. Why give it power? because symbolism is everything in this world. It is not defined by a concept, but how it makes you feel.
I am not afraid of anything, I consider myself a very enlightened and spiritual person who likes to read between the lines because it is worth noticing.
You’ve proved my point once again that you are an ignorant person, but why give my words power if you don’t believe in it in the first place?
Also, I never suggested Madonna was a “creepy insidious mind controller.” I don’t condone Kaballah. I noted that it is disrespectful of her to study it because it is only reserved to those of high order in Judaism, it is sacred, it’s not intended for an egotistical, greedy woman to make a mockery of it.
Also, a direct quote from Madonna herself about her halftime show..
““The Superbowl is kind of like the Holy of Holies in America. I’ll come at halfway of the “church experience” and I’m gonna have to deliver a sermon. It’ll have to be very impactful.””
@hotpockets – so because you can’t argue your case you resort to name calling?? CAlling other people ignorant just because you believe in hocus pocus is so laughable i don’t know why i am replying to you.
HOwever, for the record since you think i am ignorant, i have a degree in religious studies and symbolism. And you know what is the recurring theme in all religions, it’s the power people give to objects and or symbols that is completely baseless.
Madonna used to revere catholic symbolism and say equally nonsensical things about it, she’s now switched to kaballah and you are taking that seriously??!!!
As for symbolism in pop, my rebuttal to you is that it has always been every where. And also as pop is the latest form of popular music, perhaps you should look to other forms to rail against.
And i say to you per my original post, people look for things that aren’t there. BAsed on your own assertions you aren’t able to enjoy all things Egyptian, Roman, American Cheerleading or Gospel because it’s all occcult and therefore evil, and Madonna was being insidious…..it is ridiculous and you are ridiculous.
Madge was smart.
My godkids (all 16 and under year old boys) and their friends were totally not into it at first. They know who Madonna is, but they see her as “old” and were bitter that the grown womenfolk were forcing them to watch her.
They all know who MIA, LMFAO, Cee-lo, and Nicki Minaj are. B/c of this, they actually sat and WATCHED the performance and decided Madonna is “pretty cool”.
well played Madge. Well played….
Thought the whole Madonna cheer-leading bit was a little narcissistic. And if you can’t “bring it” anymore then it may be time to hang up your 53 year old microphone.
Her solo performance bored me – lipsyncing and stiff hump-dancing.FAIL!
The only thing that kept me watching were the dancers and the slackline guy. Btw Nicki Minaj looked really cute.
MANY superbowl peformances have been lip synched, including Jackson,Michael. when they are dancing, they have to.
Much better than I expected from an 80’s pop star.
And thank you for putting all this together in one blog post.
Thought the whole Madonna cheer-leading bit was a little narcissistic. And, if you can’t “bring it” anymore then it may be time to hang up your 53 year old microphone.
I didn’t watch it, don’t give a crap about Madonna. The puppy bowl on Animal Planet was much more interesting and it was for a good cause also.
Is it just me or is the american national anthem a ridiculously hard song to actually sing? (God Save the Queen has always seemed like a better song musically to me but then Im biased as hell) you have these amazingly talented women singing it and all of them sound like its giving thier voices hell!
It’s not just you, it’s a difficult song to actually sing.
“The problem is not the lyrics. The problem is that it’s a bad tune that’s unsingable, unsuitable to adaptation to diverse genres, and easily ruined even by good singers..”
It’s very difficult; it has a range of 1-1/2 octaves!!! The lyrics were a poem (by Francis Scott Key) set to the music of an English men’s social club song (The Anacreontic Song).
So basically a play-by-play of the attack on Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 set to the tune of bar song! Only in America baby….
Madonna looked like a 53 year old dancing. It’s impossible to look like she did 20 years ago, though she looked terrific and put on a solid half-time performance. Kelly Clarkson…WOW. Lovely voice. She has an incredible gift and talent. Only the truly talented can nail that song…
I thought it made for great spectacle, so for a Superbowl halftime show, it worked. I don’t think it was much of an exhibition of talent on Madonna’s part. Her dancing was not that great & she clearly wasnt singing live.
I agree with a commenter upthread that the greatest Superbowl halftime show I can remember was Prince’s–for the very reason that it combined spectacle AND talent.
Still, I don’t think Madonna embarrased herself at all. And I LOVED those Egyptian kilt outfits she, Manaj & MIA were wearing with tall boots. HOT.
great show – must have been amazing to see from the bleachers – bash her all you want and pull out all the sexist ageist crap your poor imaginations can spit out – madonna does an awesome live show.
the end.
word.
nobody is this ageist with Tina Turner or Cher!!
hahaha
she WAS the superbowl.
the opening was obviously an homage to the late Liz Taylor – who probably would have loved it.
I didn’t get all the fluff/distractions it’s Madonna why did she need all of the other stuff and singers? And what’s up with the synching I seen Madonna live and she can sing, so i don’t get why she was synching and do a bad job at it. In the end If it was just Madonna it would have been a big let down…. The Other stars made it watchable.
I will say she dance good for wearing really hight heels and being 53 even though she almost feel twice.
All in all Kelly Clarkson performance blow Madonna’s out of the water not a big Kelly fan but girl was perfection.
I thought it was awful – she looked and acted like she is 50 years old. The majority of her act was silly. I left the room after about 3 minutes – I found her embarrassing.
The opinions here are really divided. I wonder if age is the deciding factor.
This over 40 year old thought she did well. The cartwheels were unnecessary, but my 8 year old liked them. I thought she was wise to bring some newer talent. She’s never had a strong voice, but she sounded good. Her showmanship was solid. I was kind of proud of her considering I cringed when it was revealed that she would be performing.
And was that Anna WIntour powdering her nose in the box with Giselle? I laughed at loud.
all hail queen madge
love that crazy cupid guy on the rope. he was hilariously cheesey. after all these years, madonna never learned to dance beyond her vogue moves?
I wanted to like it. But yeah, she was really stiff.
Did you notice her extension stuck in her zipper? It looked like tufts of a hairy chest.
Narcissistic She-Ra!!!
the opening was FIERCE!!!
give the credit…she killed it.
it was fun and Vogue was amazing…Like a Prayer was BEAUTIFUL…the lights from the audience looked fantastic and Cee-Lo was great too!!!
MIA is hot.
Nicky was loving it.
well done electrifying show.
I am sure Elton loved it too. hee hee
Madonna did great and I think it was one of the better halftime shows we’ve seen in quite sometime!
SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE BLACK EYED PEAS. BTW, Madonna had a pulled hamstring so cut her some slack for the stumble!
Isn’t practically everyone considered better than Fergie & crew? Either way, neither can hold a candle to Prince.
MIA’s middle finger was definitely live at least on the East Coast, and so was her “I don’t give a sh!t” comment right after. Oh well, worse things have happened. You could tell they tried to censor her a split second too late. Both the NFL and NBC are already pointing fingers (heh) at each other.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/06/showbiz/ent-super-bowl-halftime-show/index.html?hpt=hp_c2
oh MIA. i like her even more now because she ‘doesn’t give a shit’ lol. i really feel like i get what her message was. I’m not being sarcastic either. but look where she was, who her audience was, and where she came from. the bird pretty much flipped itself.
You don’t flip the bird and curse at the people who are paying your salary….at least not more than once.
imo, they knew who they hired. they didn’t hire selena gomez or another little sweetheart. they hired M.I.A. *shrug* i don’t think its unexpected and i don’t think it makes her a bad person. she just tends to be militant towards certain things.
With all of Madonnas theatrics on that stage last night i’d rather watched one “Proud Mary ” of Ms. Tina Turner and her gorgeous dancers live from her concert last 2009,shes old but that woman can really bring it and more!!
better than BEP (it was easy)
big show but without soul and without energy
i remember U2(great energy) or Prince several years ago
I’m not impressed .If your going to critize Britney,LALOPEZ and JANET for lipsyncing you might as well do it when it’s Madonna. Because they all do the same thing some just put more money into it than the others. She blatantly copied KYLIE(les follies tour)and, i can see a little bit of JLO(see AMA’s performance).
Is this guy a member of Cirque du Soleil at 4:22?
Yes. My husband is an artist with them and had told me that Cirque would have an artist onstage.
OMG!!! I was so wrong for adding to the mix the KYLIE FOLIES thing.
How can i be so stupid?
I have no excuse for that even if it’s pretty much ancient.
I confonded the Greek empire to the Roman and Egyptian ones!!!
She didn’t copied KYLIE!!!SORRY MADGE !!!!
Where is X? I’ m taking back my apologies,i think that i was right when i said that she copied KYLIE.
But it’s good to know that MADGE gave some work to the people who were in the stage with her that night(I’m looking at you Tiff).
Like i said MADGE is good for the economy but for the ears.
Why are you looking at me? I just confirmed a question posed. One of Cirque’s artists was used in the act at 4:22.
Huh? Giving them work, he’s employed. You lost me.
Sorry,OriginalTiffany i’m ashamed of myself.I wanted to write BABY BRAHIM but since i had your name in my head i wrote yours.I just made a big ERROR.
First the negative points:
– She didn’t sing live. Huge dissapointment! It would have been perfect if live but she made a choice and she choose to stick it to people who call her too old to perform. I found the performance on YT but before that read the comments on sites and lots of people were saying she’s stiff and that she needs to retire. I would pay money to see those people do what Madonna did, in what world was this performance stiff?! If there’s anything to whine about then it’s the lack of trying to actually sing instead of showing off she can bust a move like the young.
– She was trying so so hard, poor girl but I understand why and I’m glad she didn’t succumb to all the pressure.
– Madonna is a robot, she’s really energetic and driven but that authentic hapiness and fun that was so obvious and bright in her early tours (and a bit in Confessions) is gone.
Positive:
– I couldn’t follow the Super Bowl but was anxiously waiting for Madonna’s performance to pop up on YT. People have expectations and whatever the reasons is to see her (fail or succeed) they too are waiting to see what she has in store. So for me, as long as this happens, girlfriend ain’t over.
– The opening! Oh my Madge! The first thing that popped in my head was “don’t ever retire”. Even if she would be 80 and sitting in a wheelchair, the girl can build anticipation and put on one heck of a show!
– The dancing: 50+ people! I imagine my aunt busting a move like that ON HEELS and seeing her end up in the hospital fo’ sho’. It’s one thing to do a cardio work-out but it’s another to do it so stylishly and always on mark (ok, one slip-up, it’s forgiven). F* Beyonce, Madonna can do it too and the broad 30 years older.
– I was singing along and wanted to dance and feel good. That’s why I’ll always be a fan because she always make some sort of positive impact.
– The clothing: Madonna knows!
– I’m starting to like her new single, granted it’s shite BUT I play it over and over again, the beat is really good so yeah…
– The guest appearances: it worked, it flowed, it was good.
– The Like A Prayer rendition, beautiful. It reminded me of Get Into The Groove in the Re-Invention tour in the beginning.
There are very good performers out there with better voices and more authenticity BUT as far as performing goes with dancing, singing, visuals and everything, I still prefer Madonna.
^ 😮 I’m a Madonnaloon.
I agree with everything you said, except the authentic happiness. I think she really needs screaming people right in front of her. It is a bit hard to connect to people sitting how far away? And I went to Sticky and Sweet Tour (twice) and her energy and joy was right there, as always.
Kelly did a fantastic job.
Split feelings on Madonna. It was an entertaining spectacle for sure, and the dancers and acrobats were great. Part of me is impressed she can still put on a good show, but the other part of me thinks it’s a little embarrassing for her to run around with pompons like that. That song was terrible too. Stick to the hits, Madonna.
Enjoyed Cee-Lo showing up – I like his voice.
MIA – whatever. Lame and unnecessary, all it did was show her lack of class.
I didn’t hate it. Not sure that the Superbowl is a Vouge-ing crowd. The new song sucks. For someone who considers herself an artist, I thought she could something less insipid.
Wonderful production values. B+
Oh and M.I.A. flipping the bird is nothing important. It’s just a finger but I know that Americans are very uptight about it and I know that obscenities or controversy and such are a big no-no with this (and most) show.
I thought she did an amazing job I mean even for Madonna she had to have been a nervous wreck but I think it was one of the best half-time shows in a while just that entrance of Vogue alone was epic.
I agree.
Remember the pop-up video for Like A Prayer?
Wish VH1 would dump those basketball wives and bring back some pop-up video!
I was embarrassed for her.
She looked like a teen? How does she do it?
WOW … she did an amazing job. She is fit, creative and an incredibly hard worker. Honestly there is nothing to criticize and I would be ashamed to do so.
MY poor poochie dog started barking as soon as the show started so I had to mute it and found it really interesting without the sound …got me to wondering what idiot put that routine together and put a 54 yr old woman in it….It was that bad…and what was with the silver blimp singing with her ? finely figured out it was Ceo Green but never figure out while that faux Egptain thingie was giving the camera the finger…….really watch it with the sound muted…its a riot of awfullness !!! lol
Madonna is a living Legend. She nailed it!
EPIC PERFORMANCE? NOT!!!
Better than the BEP? Only if you think that a lip-synced performance is better than a live one!!!
A great team? YES!!!MADGE has always had a good team and a lot of money. Just look at the big production designed to make you forget that she’s not an artist but an industry tool.
MADONNA is a brand that makes a lot of money on tour so this performance is a way of promoting her next tour
MADONALOONIE,i’ll admit that she’s a hardworker but like you said her heart is not there anymore she’s in it for the money(300$ a ticket)and for her ego(luv madna?).She desn’t F* Beyonce. B can sing live okay.
I’m kinda rooting for her because at 50 something what she’s doing isn’t in the least bit easy. Yeah it’s easy to laugh about grannies and old ladies and stuff but you know what? Someday you’ll be 50 something too and you won’t want people thinking of you like that because you won’t feel like a granny/old lady. Just because your face/body gets older doesn’t mean that your mind becomes antiquated. You’ll be amazed at how different you between how you FEEL and LOOK. And are JUDGED. Unfortunately, young looks and body don’t last but you should still get respect for doing a good job at your craft.
When I’ll be 50 or 70 I hope I will be able to accept gracefully that I’m not the 20-30 girl I once was.
Maybe you’ll feel differently when you hit 50, are in great fitness and wanting to continue pushing yourself and some shallow younger people are like “your 50 now, just crawl off and die some place quiet… “
@Eleanor:
Why should we define what ageing has to be for someone else?
What is ageing gracefully? and what is it especially for woman? because do you expect viggo mortensen to age gracefully and stop dressing like a thirty something new grunge, stop sporting “inappropriate” long hair and fade away (same age as Madge) or Brad Pitt (pushing fifties)?
Does Liam Neeson, a 60 years old man “playing” at being the new action hero, over dying his her and dating a woman that can be his daughter bothers you as much?
So why JUST women have to “age gracefully” as getting old ladies outfits and stop thinking of themselves as being attractive and sexy?
She is incredibly fit, she is a professional, she is creative, she is sexy and entertaining (and I am far from being a fan) why would she have to stop doing what she likes? what would she have to please people by complying with some uptight expectations of what appropriate is?
She dates men way younger… like half of Hollywood’s men, so why should be more crucified for it?
The thing I greatly admire about her is that she is FREE, she don’t mind she lives her life at it’s best and exactly how she wants and without caring for the crap she can get…
I am 23 and I try to not make an ass of myself with saying such things as when I will be 50 I will be this or that, or I will age like this… I don’t make such future embarassement because I have absolutely no idea of the person I will be in 5 years!!!
@Lukethatboy: no one is telling Madonna to hide herself, but to stop pretending she is 21.
And she’s pretending she’s 21 by putting on a great show? wearing a skirt? working with people younger than her? maybe the problem isn’t Madonna’s but people’s idea of what’s appropriate… why should Madonna stop doing what she loves doing just because she’s 53? i just don’t get it???
She is pretending to be 21 by dating 21 year olds. Having so much not yet needed surgery, IMHO and looking like a muscle cadaver to teach med students. She has made herself a joke and its sad. The only difference between her and Demi Moore is that Demi’s hands are still OK and Madonna is sober.
Madonna is why I am afraid of botox. Seeing what it did to her in her 40s made me wonder if putting it on too soon makes you look worse than you did before you had it once it wears off. If you look at her face without lighting and photoshop it looks older than 53. There are some photos on this site. It may be too much tweaking too soon or it may be how sinewy she is but regardless of the cause its SCARY!
That is why we comment. She made it an issue. Lets hope our two generations coming after her stop that.
For the record, I’ve said the same things about Mick Jagger as I am saying about Madonna. I just waited until he was 60 because he didn’t botox himself to death. I do realize that is because he is so old they didn’t have botox when he was 50.
You should hear the comments about Sir Paul McCartney from my friends in the music industry – those are worse. They are not about how he looks but about how his new music sucks and how it ruins his concerts. I think I’d rather be called “too old” that have someone say I lost my talent.
I thought she did great.Everyone remember her age.I am younger and i can’t dance in boot’s like that. And I also think she was singing at the end. Can’t say that about a lot of people these day’s.
While I loved it, and I mean LOVED it, I think her dancing would have been sooooo much better with out those boots on. Other than that, you have to hand it to her, she’s 768 years old and she still gives young bitches a run for their money, look at Britney & Drunxtina. 15 years in the game (tops) and they’re both done, mentally and physically. I think Madonna has made a deal with the devil. I was impressed. Also: That entrance… The gayest thing the super bowl has ever seen. LOVED IT!!!!
that’s RIGHT.
the entrance was sooooo happening i thought i was gonna burst.
hahahahahahaha
I was hoping she would gay it out and she did.
love it.
agreed!
Side with tooey, asli, constance, len, azuera, samihami demian bichir and others – no excuse for lip synching the great tina turner sings live watched a show of hers from the Netherlands several years ago all LIVE SINGING and tina’s 67;
Second, if she is so great why the large and useless supporting cast;
What does Niki minaj’s actual voice sound like – I’m guessing not good;
MIA acts like she’s some thirld world feminist poet but she’s married to the son of billionare she’s part of the 1 per cent. If MIA is some leftist feminist why is she appearing in a festival of multi-national corporate bachanal Money. W.B. Yeats she is not he’ll still be read 50 years from now MIA will be truly mia from music.
As other posters stated, when your reference is the truly awful BEPS, that’s not much of standard to beat.
Finally, how about getting rid of this crap altogether, and just use college marching bands – 1 from Div. 1, one from Div.2 or 3, and one from a historically black college. Better music and no egos or narcissism. End of Rant.
WELL PUT!!!TINA is the QUEEN
Well said! God, I hate 1% with no sense of reality.
Madonna lost me at the pompoms. She reminds me of Joan Collins who swears she’s never had plastic surgery. Her face looks pretty smooth; her hands look like liver-spotted chicken claws. That’s why Madonna is starting with the rediculous glovelettes. She can’t hide her hands.
Can I just say how glad I was that her arms were covered up? They always look a little scary to me, especially when she does all those crazy boxing-esq photo shoots. I did like hearing all the older Madge songs last night.
Great graphics but until Like a Prayer I was underwhelmed. She seemed to “sing” everything a beat slower than the original. Don’t people want to rock out at halftime? Strong finish but the number of cameos left me a little flat, like she needed support. One would have been cooler. Madonna’s many things, possibly even still relevant but not cool anymore. And still the choice of Like A Prayer seems a bit dodgy or maybe brilliant given the controversy with Tim Tebow this season.
Does anyone see the similarities between Madonna and Demi Moore? Granted, Madonna is a much stronger b*tch and I don’t see her having a nervous breakdown anytime soon. But both women are around the same age and seem to be obsessed with their youth when they became stars in the 80s and 90s. I’m not saying old women should go away and live under a rock, but there is a way to remain in the spotlight and age gracefully. Madonna is in great shape but watching a 50+ woman wearing that awful getup and dancing with MIA is embarrassing. The “Like a Prayer” portion was acceptable. Her new stuff, however, is horrid. Stick with the classics and stop fighting your age, Madge.
Not a fan, but I thought she did a great job. The sound was so clean. Was she lip-synching?
Yeah, she was lip-synching.
Watched the Superbowl with my 18 year old son, I’m 44. He hated it and asked me how old are her songs, lol!
Honestly they should give Clarkson a standing invitation to sing the National Anthem at every Superbowl. She sings it better than anyone else I’ve heard sing it. She did it at one other major sporting event — was it the superbowl or the world series? Can’t remember, but I liked that version even better. No bells and whistles, just sang it, at a faster pace than last night.
ITA…one of the best renditions of the Star Spangled Banner ever! Madonna = meh…
Whatever we think doesn’t really matter. She’s a big money machine and the industry needs her(the economy is pretty bad as you can see). She has a loyal fan base all over the world that she should be proud of that’s a big acomplishement. Her fan base is already established but she ain’t attracting new younger fans with her LUV MADNA(LMFAO?THE SHUFF’L)
If you think she sings live “like a prayer”than you’re a sheep.Oh!She also copied Brit ‘s Femme fatale tour with the egyptian thing.
no, she was doing Liz Taylor in the Cleopatra movie – which I think was perfect since Liz passed recently. And who cares is she was singing live at the end – it totally rocked. I am not a fan or hers at all, but that was a wonderful show and I really wish I could have been there to see it.
I never said that Brit owned the copyright for “THE CLEOPATRA ENTRANCE”.
I only said that Brit did it last year on her FEMME FAT TOUR OKAY!!!
You can look it up on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lawhjp59qEA&feature=related
Now, i don’t think LIZ owned that copyright either just ask CLEOPATRA herself!!!
Full disclosure – I was “watching” the game on a 12 inch TV my friend dragged up from the basement/1996. Which was fine until her in-laws invited themselves over. Yeah.
So I didn’t “see” much of the performance, but I loved what I heard. So pumped that Madonna was Voguing during the Superbowl!!! Kinda interesting that their appealing to the female/non-straight male demographic, no?
Madonna! Loved it!
I wasn’t that impressed, but then again I always think these half time shows are over hyped. I can only recall one halftime show that nailed it and that was U2 after 911.
Listen, I’m old and even I do NOT want to see some old bitch stumbling around! Especially for the Super Bowl. Super Bowl should be left for the younger performers. (“Like a Prayer” was okay. Probably because she was wearing a robe.)
Sorry, I can’t get with a lip-synching performance, and I don’t like Madonna to begin with. What an overrated, egotistical woman. And FYI, having Nicki Minaj and MIA in your song doesn’t make you cool. And your new song blows!
..consider this younger divas Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson have been relegated to weight-loss ads, while JLo and Christina Aguilera are clinging to reality shows for relevance.
But Madonna, whether you like it or not, is still here. She’s 53, and she’s making pop music. Deal with it folks.
Mama is STILL holding it down.
Absolutely agree!
I thought Madonna’s half time show was epic. The stage, the lights, the dancers, the production- they were all stunning.
Also, she had injured herself during rehearsals (yet she still performed like a total pro).
And to top it off, she genuinly looked happy to be there.
If she would have sat on a stool and sang
a cappella, people would have found something to hate on as well.
She transitioned from one song to the next seamlessly and for the life of me, I can not understand how anyone could not appreciate such a huge, gorgeous production and a really entertaining show.
Madonna was “good” but I did expect more. As for Kelly Clarkson I now get so nervous watching whomever sings the national anthem waiting to see how they will screw it up. I usually gauge it on the emotion I feel while they sing it. I didn’t get “Whitney Houston” chills but I did get a little choked up so that’s a success in my eyes.
Over the hill fading popstar, rocking wooden moves to piped in music. Lame and a little bit sad. Give it up Madge, things have moved on.
She was amazing! She did look uncomfortable in those boots though. I think her moves wouldn’t have been so stiff had she worn something with a lower heel. Great show!
I loved it. I did think that Madonna was so preoccupied with being completely perfect, that she forgot to have fun, thus, the stiffness. Of course the lip-synched. She’s known for it, and with the superbowl being set up in a few minutes, it’s probably best to leave nothing to chance, so don’t sing live. Makes sense.
She did an excellent job and I especially liked the fact that she didn’t wear her usual skin revealing outfit. She looked really good and I couldn’t tell if she was lip syncing or not.
Madonna was perfect–she put it over the top with her Cleopatra type entrance, proving that yes, she can laugh at herself, and then included as many artists as she could in the 12 minutes she had. She rocked it and Like A Prayer at the end actually brought me to tears…yeh I’ll admit it. I’m a sucker for that song
Kelly Clarkson was amazing. Madonna… not so much. For those who think she ‘nailed it’, is this really supposed to be about her ‘doing great for her age’? Yes, she is in great shape…. but sooooooo not the point here. The rest of the show was okay but Madonna was slow and awkward, and was OBVIOUSLY lip syncing. So what was the point? The ‘star’ of the show was attempting to dance around to pre-recorded songs… and couldn’t pull off the dancing either. She might have given herself half a chance if she had not chosen to wear those hideous boots that she could barely walk in, let alone dance.
Kelly gave me goosebumps!! <3 Finally SOMEBODY does the National Anthem justice.
As for Madonna…. meh.
You just KNOW Madonna is pissed that MIA took the limelight off of her today lol! 🙂
oh people stop being silly..yes she lip- synched but only two songs( music and give me all your love) but when she was singing vogue like a prayer open your heart it was live..i think she lip-synched because of the manydance moves she had to do otherwise she would’ve sounded completely out of breath..plus give the women some credit for dancing and jumping around in those boots
she killed it !She was amazing!!!
I thought it was a good halftime show. I’m so tired of all the sexist comments about Madonna’s age. Where were the comments towards the men who have been performing in the years since Janet?
My only complaint is that she lip synced the whole thing. Some say she was singing live for Like A Prayer, but I don’t think she was.
The M.I.A. thing is lame. If people get offended by a finger then I feel sorry for them. Isn’t she a one-hit wonder anyway?
Kelly was good. She went the common/safe route and it worked. No one will ever top Whitney or Marvin!
Kelly went the safe route and it worked.Agreed!A lot of singers are just getting slammed for the way the National Anthem is being sung theses days and even though they may want to put their own signature style on it I find simple but heartfelt is best.
Everyone should run right now and youtube Marvin Gaye singing the national anthem at the Lakers game for those who don’t think it can be done any other way.
Perfection.
YES!!! Marvin’s version was amazing! So beautiful and wonderfully different and it’s awesome to see how the crowd and the teams reacted to it.
I couldn’t agree more. He’s the only one who can get away with it too! He had that charm and confidence. Damn I miss him!
heheheh. Ya the show was not the best half-time show ever, but let’s just say that it was probably the best half-time show ever given by a woman over 50.
And when we’re over 50, I hope we all dance and fall over and remember how we all bashed Madonna for tripping.
Age is coming for us all buddies!
F*!ӣ**
I loved the show! Madonna is a true star and she was amazing!! Kelly also nailed it, she has wonderful voice!
Kibbles have you seen that old video on youtube with MADGE and DEMI?They’re were in a limousine and basically it shows that they used to hang together in HW back in the days.MADGE is the Alpha female in that p***y.DEMI like MADGE are members of the same club(sect).
Madonna’s halftime show was the most watched halftime show in Super Bowl history.
Wrong. She had about 118 million and Michael Jackson had almost 135 million. Try again, honey.
I just read the papers, “honey.” That’s what they are reporting.

Sad state of things.”
I completely agree with you!!
Sadly, I think Madonna made her age an issue by making herself looks so silly and before she needed to. If tweaking is necessary NOW at 53 should be time for her first tweak. She started tweaking like mad around 40 when there was really no need.
There was what was supposed to be a pro-Madonna comment on my FB feed and it was praising her for how agile she was for almost 60. 53 is NOT almost 60 but her obsession has made people think she is old vs. middle aged.
So has her obsession with muscle. I bet her hands wouldn’t need hiding were she to gain a few pounds of fat.
Good job. I liked her performance. She covered herself up appropriately, didn’t grind her gristle all over the place and sang a medley of songs that was pleasing. Some of the imagery was over the top but Hey! it’s the superbowl and supposed to be a big deal.
All in all I think she did good and did not embarrass herself. I wonder how much the superbowl big wigs had to threaten her to get her to tone down the gristle and grind?
Well I managed to watch most of the video (without volume) and thought it looked pretty polished and spectacular – but wow, Madonna sure uses a TON of back up talent to carry her show. Her dancing looks reserved and stiff (although crazy boots and a hamstring injury may account for some of that). I was happy to see she kept it mostly covered – no unsavory skin show. Highlight IMO was her cool disappearing act at the end.
Please open your eyes and WAKE UP!!!
I hate to say it, but I found she phoned it in. The stuff around her was impressive, but she did not display any enthusiasm in her performance. Maybe her age but I don’t buy that; she is in better shape than many 20 year olds.
Former fan, but I’ll never use her age against her. And I think her body is awesome.
However, she has lost her spark as a performer. She’s pretty much rested on her laurels in the last 10 years. She has gotten to the point where she has done it all, and there’s no way to top herself. That’s what happens when you base your career on always being bigger and better, rather than on talent.
Agreed!
Absolutely.
Last ten years? No way. Her 2006/2007 Confessions tour was brilliant and acclaimed by her fans as one of her best tours and for me one of the best pop concerts of all time and one of my favorite albums. Nine new songs played, different arrangments on other older songs. It was a sophisticated concert, very artistic. Her 2004 Re-Invention tour was amazing also.
I agree her last tour in ’08 was lacking for me, but she seemed to be having a ball in it.
I’ve never liked her, not even as a teen. However, I thought as far as people who liked her she was relevant until at least 2000-2002 (Music). Then I think she started worrying about how old she was before she really needed to and became a joke of her former self.
I did like her dress at the GGs this year so perhaps for those who like her, she is on her way to a good reinvention but I am doubting it based on her new song. I never liked her – she seemed crass to me but at least some of her songs were catchy. This is not catchy. It’s J-Loish.
I love you Madonna! You nailed it big time! goosebumps baby!
Look at the second picture: SMELL THE GLOVE.
shout out to Spinal Tap.
Madonna reads Cele|bitchy! She covered her sinewy arms and old lady upper thighs! Thank you Madonna for reading our comments. I’ll give you a pass on performing the really bad new song, it was probably to late to take it off the computerized vocal tracks by the time you saw our opinion.
Thanks for listening. Next time… try for historical accuracy. There were no Trojan slaves to pull Cleopatra’s carriage. The Trojans were long gone by then.
In short… TACKY but I think she tried. Cee-Lo bugged me because I didn’t think it was either of their idea. He was there to promote The Voice and I don’t want to watch The Voice.
I liked THE banner:
WORLD PEACE
Way to go Madonna for that.
Naawww, she was cute, like my nana
I thought it sucked and I like Madonna’s music. It’s almost too hard to choose a good halftime performer-too many divergent tastes.
The opening number with the centurions was great. It was the kind of diva-like entrance that I expect of Madonna and it was also a clever nod to the gladiator-aspect of football, as well as to her other obsession, Hollywood.
Unfortunately, she lost me after the cheer leading sequence started.
I wish she would have disappeared at the beginning
I don’t get it when people say, “So-and-so HAD to lipsynch, otherwise how could they do the dancing.”
Maybe I’m confused, but I think the singing should come first. I know Madonna was one of the first to remove the emphasis from singing with her big showy concerts, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
but just imagine the fits if she didnt dance! OMG!
Madonna was horrible. If she were injured she should have pulled out and let another performer take over. Don’t blame the heels. I saw Tina Turner, who was much older than 53 dance her ass off in high heels for hours on end in concert. No excuse for such a poor performance from Madonna. Just horrible. And then she wants you to pay for a concert ticket? What a joke!
Madonna was fantastic! She completely regained my respect and admiration. I got very emotional, even tearful during Like a Prayer, good old times! She doesn’t have the most powerful voice in the industry, but so do Jennifer Lopez or Janet Jackson who basically whispers her words. However, as an ENTERTAINER Madonna is incomparable. It is of course my personal opinion/taste/preference.
Madonna should be embarrassed…the show was boring and uninspired, her voice was ridiculously bad (even when pre-recorded!) and no one wants to see her 55 year old crotch flappin’ in the wind! Seriously, it was so SAD.
I thought both Madonna and Kelly did well, the “Like a Prayer” part was the best of Madonna’s show.
It was the worst half time show ever, it looked as if she had absolutly no rhythm and old as a fermented chinese egg…What can you say she’s Madonna!(How about never talking about Brittney’s no dancing ass without mentioning this sh*t).
I loved it. Madonna has great showmanship. I didn’t know she was injured, if so, more props to her! She is in amazing shape.
Had to LOL at Madonna shuffeling though. . . Hee!
Madonna rocked the house, y’all. She was great. That was the best haltime show I’ve seen in a while (sorry black eyed peas, you stunk it up!)
For those of you who are calling the women who are dumping on Madonna sexist. I’m not sexist. I am an equal opportunity cringer. Some of my friends want to go see Van Halen’s latest reunion. For me Van Halen = JHS. It may be that they/we have a relationship with Van Halen since they filmed their first video at our HS when I was 14/5. However by then I had moved on to Motley Crue, U2 and Depeche Mode and wasn’t super impressed.
The point is these guys are the same age as Madonna and I don’t want to go see David Lee Roth limping around the stage that he used to leap off of while doing splits in the air when I was 12. I like my memories. Madonna bugs me becasue she doesn’t seem to get that shows like that are passe.
For a second I thought she said “I’m sixty and I know it!”
Maybe ,i’m too harsh on Madge.Somebody said that she was making a parody of America and the music industry.
Which would explain the Roman(US) and the Egyptian(EU) empire thing(Cleo used to F*CEASAR back in the day and plot with him to conqer the Perse empire(Iran). Nowdays, the west is still trying to conquer Iran.
History repeting itself (WORLDPEACE)
Exept the Roman empire has fallen(THE WORLD ECONOMIS CRISIS?The moment she disapear at the end)
MADGE this is some pretty scary ish!!!
Stars React to Madonna’s Splashy Super Bowl Halftime Show:
Kim Kardashian: Madonna is EVERYTHING! She looks soooo good!
Kelly Ripa: We need to watch it again in slow mo. RT @ABTVHD: Totes! “@KellyRipa: Thank you MADONNA! #MDNA”
Sherri Shepherd: I think #Madonna is one of the few artists who thru the years has consistently been able to reinvent & keep herself relevant. Go 53 yr old
Snoop Dogg: Madonna killen the superbowl her show is soo fresh. Wowoowowowowowoowowowowowow!
Nash Overstreet: Whatever anyone says. That halftime was dope. Madonna has never been a “singer”, but always a performer. That SHOW was crazy.
John Leguizamo: #madonna was cougarific
Sharon Osbourne: Madonna is back! She’s the queen. Just sensational!
Paris Hilton: That was one of the best half time shows I’ve ever seen! Madonna was incredible!
Bethenny Frankel: Holy madonna balls. That was epic
Kelly Osbourne : Nothing I have watching musically has made my heart pump with so much joy then Madonna’s performance #thesuperbowl f**king amazing!
Rainn Wilson: I wonder how much Madonna can bench?
*Garry Shandling: Is this Madonna? Help me.
Great minds think alike NO?
I heard Kim charges 10000$ a tweet and Snoop 8000$.
WELL PLAYED!!!,WELL PLAYED TEAM MDNA!!!
Me too MDNA, i want be on your payroll contact me through CELEBITCHY OKAY!!!
MADGE just scrape 300$ i’m worth it!!!
I’m just gonna need to change my name to MonsterDNA so nobody will ever reconize me when i’m selling your crap to the peasants.
what the hell was that?! WHO WAS THAT?!
I don’t mind the lip synching it’s a stadium gig for tv whatever, it’s not like Madonna is known for her singing voice, but the dancing?! She looked soooo stiff! Like she was going to keal over on those heels , zero rythm. Yeah it’s like suddenly grandma decided to dress up as Madonna and put on a show. What the heck?!
Terrible, just terrible.
SO BORING! Uninspired, tired, soulless. Beautiful set and lighting, but Madge has no spark, no love, no gratitude, and it shows. Sorry, to all the 50 year old gay men pretending this was good. And enough with the yoga-ography already.
I remember now why i added KYLIE to the mix!!!It’s because of the fact that CLEO was not really EGYPTIAN!!!
She was GREEK!!!!SURPRISE!!!She was a Greek colon!!!
yes, her family was put on the throne by Alexander…but she was still the Queen of Egypt so…?
NO!She was part of the 1% back in the day.
Do you really think that QUEEN CLEO was hanging with the peasants?I don’t think so, not unless you were her slave (black or white it didn’t matter i’m looking at you MADGE and i don’t think that she married an Egytian either).
I always thaught CLEO was overrated by HWOOD.
I mean she wasn’t the only queen in Egypt everybody always forget NEFERTITI.
To be honest,i don’t really give a F* about the superball or the opinions of the zlisters.
The only thing, i REALLY REALLY wanna know is, what Charlize theron was thinking about MDNA’performance?
http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/CA4kHxN2QTl/Charlize+Theron+Totes+Cases+Alcohol+Super/BdhDLXbXfLu
Who hosted that party?
Jeremy RENNER?LEODICRAP?TOBEY?
What were they thinking about that?
I would of paid good money(300$)to be there and to listen to their drunken opinions about that very important matter!!!LOL!!!
Why don’t they get someone like good ole George Strait that stands there and relies on his talent instead of blasting on Masonic occult symbolism. Madonna is the worst of the bunch, MTV awards are loaded with occult symbolism.(Even Taylor Swift bows down to the Goat) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkHVWf3_PBU
my 73-year-old mother texted me after half-time: “omg did you watch Madonna? What was she trying to do? Why was she so wooden? Oh well. I hope they didn’t spend a lot of $ on that.”
LOL! Indeed.
Madonna is beloved by her fans who see her tour after tour. Her tour is going on sale and she sells out at lightning speed in so many areas that if you blink an eye while ordering tickets you’re in nosebleed seats. Rest that hamstring injury, Madonna. We want you healthy on tour.
She’s a perfectionist. I’m sure whatever you noticed, she noticed by x10. Nonetheless, she is a legend, she changed everything for women singers; gotta hand it to her all the way- and I wish I had a bangin’ 25 yo boyfriend 🙂 way to go lady, you knocked it outta the park once again…
word.
What if she was making a parody of the music industry?
That horrible song LUV doesn’t sound any different than all the crap on the radio and tv that is polluating the air all around the world.
If MDNA wasn’t singing this song KATY PERRY would be singing it with the same “i know my music is bull*i’m just doing it for the money”look.
Maybe MADGE was trying to tell us in her deep lyrics:” la la la I know kids i’m a girl lol but we all are being paid to do some craptastic music for the sheeps la la la and i did it first la la la”
MDNA is the definition of a true artist indeed.
When is this woman going to stop making us watch her do the dancing poop squat? She is surely stumbling around on those heels hahahahahaha.
I think i’m going to live in this thread forever.
There is NO WAY to sing a live concert set with music and all at the Superbowl. The stage is put together in minutes. There are no huge stadium speakers to handle the sound like a live concert. It’s not realistic to even expect that. Even the marching bands ARE NOT LIVE!
Kelly sang the anthem into the stadium P.A. system. You can’t do a concert like that.
Madonna was great.
madonna is so stupid she tries to act like she is 18 or younger but sweety the reality is your 53 i mean sereously come on people she isnt cool anymore and her music is like 70s crap sorry to burst your bubble people who like her reality sucks!
